Title plate for Haden's Études à l'eau-forte [Studies in etching], published in 1866. The artist's hands are working on an etching plate, with etching tools and needles on the side. The inscription "O Laborum ​Dulce Lenimen" is from Horace's first Ode, and can be translated as "the sweet success of labor" or as "o sweet solace of labor" (in reference of Apollo's lyre).
