After a painting By Eugène Delacroix
Flameng, a romantic artist, has mad an etching after a Delacroix original, "Marian Faliero." The Romantic artists, and Delacroix the most gifted among them, were searching for a direction in their art. "L'Artiste" (1831), the newspaper which supported the Romanic artists, exalted the idea that it was man who searches, who is the genius.
