The facial features of this Lohan are non-Chinese. Luohan are deemed to have passed through all of the stages of the Path to Enlightment. Such individuals do not attain Buddhahood, but are regarded as holy figures or saints. The head and the bottom of this Luohan are brown, an ingenious use of the natural different colors of this piece of jade. Its highly polished surface and elegant shape make it more valuable.
