Chinese
On the back of this uniquely-shaped pouch is a clasp so it could be worn attached to a belt. The pouch is deeply carved with dragons (Lung) which inhabit the sky. It has nine resemblances: the head of a camel, horns of a dear, eyes of a hawk, and palm of a tiger. There is also a set-in carving of a monkey with a deer. Both animals are bestowers of health, protection and success on mankind, with the monkey also being able to drive away evil influences. The Chinese call the rhinoceros a "sworded cow". The animal was formley found in the Szechuan province, but it is now extinct. The moveable ball in the mouth of the dragon is the traditional "night shining pearl".
