Chinese
A follower of the famous Chinese painter Lan Yin, Yu Zhiding became a court painter in 1681, during the K'ang Hsi dynasty (1662-1722). His signature and his seal can be identified on the painting. The painting shows traditional, idealized Chinese family life. It is done in the traditional "blue and green" style.
