Coal mining town with frame houses of mine workers, laundry and figures in foreground, working mine behind and above.
"In coal mining sections, huge culm piles frequently dominate the scene; while frame houses of miners creep up slopes whose irregularity is accentuated by the drop of the surface due to mining operations below.
