Dairy farm with three buildings in middleground, rolling hills with trees behind and above, 5 grazing cows in foreground.
"An abundance of corn and hay has helped to develop dairying as the most important live stock industry in Pennsylvania. Milk from farms all over the State is sold to consumers annually for the approximate total of $200,000,000. Although other cattle have decreased in number in Pennsylvania since 1900, cows show a yearly increase. Largely concentrated in the southeastern portion of the State, dairy farms have spread into the Appalachian section and the Allegheny Plateau." (D. Grafty, "Pennsylvania as Artists See it: The Gimbel PA Art Collection", 1948)
