Figure of Christ in Clavary Cemetery in Pittsburgh, standing in front of Roman temple ruins looking out over Monongahela River with J&L Mills smoking over waterfront.
"Irony touches the life-size figure of Christ in Calvary Cemetery, Pittsburgh, as it stands against the pillar ruins of a Roman temple and looks out over the Monongahela River with the Jones and Laughlin mills smoking by the water-front. The gabled wooden houses climbing the many leveled slopes are typical of the city." (D. Grafty, "Pennsylvania as Artists See it: The Gimbel PA Art Collection", 1948)
