American
Hunter with hat and rifle amidst trees, mostly leaf-less, 2 beagles heading west.
"Hunting is an important sport in Pennsylvania. In the fall of the year en with guns and dogs roam the countryside, flushing pheasants in the fields, or stalking deer in the woodlands. There are many fine state forest parts in the mountainous sections that yield deer, bear, wildcat, fox, raccoon, mink, and even the rapidly disappearing wild turkey. Beaver have been released by the government in certain sections." (D. Grafty, "Pennsylvania as Artists See it: The Gimbel PA Art Collection", 1948)
