This marble statue depicting the Virgin Mary was styled after sculptures from the Renaissance. This statue corresponds to the Angel of the Annuncation, located to the left of this work in the cloister.

Purchased by Miss Helen Clay Frick in 1924 and donated to the University of Pittsburgh in February 1933.
